What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a modern, “braceless” alternative to traditional metal braces. Invisalign technology uses a series of custom-made clear aligners to straighten teeth and align the bite efficiently, effectively, and comfortably.

Your Invisalign aligners will come in sets, with one custom-designed clear aligner tray for the top teeth and another tray for the bottom teeth. These clear aligners are made of BPA-free, high-quality, flexible plastic with SmartTrack® material designed exclusively for Invisalign

what age can you get Invisalign?

At GO Orthodontics, children as young as 9 can get Invisalign. Our orthodontists’ have years of training and experience using Invisalign for kids, teens and adults, ages 9 to 82!

We’re proud to create custom Invisalign treatment plans that help turn this mixture of baby teeth and permanent teeth into a beautiful, healthy smile of permanent teeth.

How does Invisalign work?

You’ll begin your Invisalign process in-person at one of our offices in Oxford, Saltillo, Southaven and Corinth, Mississippi, as well as Collierville, Tennessee. When you begin treatment, you’ll receive several sets of custom-designed aligners.

The same day you visit us for your complimentary consultation, you can get your digital impression scan taken and begin your journey.

You’ll wear each set of aligners for only two weeks. After two weeks, you’ll switch your aligners out with the next set. Each set of aligners is custom-made to move your teeth one step closer to their beautiful end position.

Over time you’ll notice changes in the alignment of your teeth and in just a few months, you’ll notice a progressively straighter, healthier smile!

what are the benefits of Invisalign?

Invisalign is invisible: Invisalign aligners are made of transparent material that are difficult to see while you’re wearing them! You can go about your social life and professional life confidently throughout your Invisalign treatment. Invisalign is great for professionals, athletes, brides, parents, teens with bustling social lives and children prone to orthodontic emergencies. Invisalign is ideal for all types of lifestyles.

Invisalign is comfortable to wear: Your Invisalign clear aligners will have smooth, rounded edges, specially-designed to fit comfortably in your mouth without irritating your cheeks, lips or tongue.

Invisalign is customized just for you: Your Invisalign aligners are custom-made to fit your mouth. Our orthodontists use the iTero® digital scanner to create digital models of your teeth and gums in only a few minutes. These digital models are then used to custom-design each aligner so that it fits perfectly in your mouth, and over time, moves your teeth into their beautiful new formation.

Invisalign is removable: You can remove your aligners to eat, drink, brush your teeth and floss. You can remove your aligners for special occasions too! This means you won’t have any dietary restrictions and your favorite foods are still on the table. There’s no need to change your lifestyle with Invisalign; Invisalign adjusts to you.

Invisalign is effective: Most people start to notice a significant difference only a few weeks into their treatment process! Most treatments are completed within one year, but this can vary depending on the severity of your condition and your diligence in wearing your aligners as instructed.

Is Invisalign better than at-home (DIY) clear aligners?

Yes, doctor-monitored treatment is always the safer option. Treatment with at-home clear aligners is risky and has been known to result in irreparable damage.

With DIY clear aligner treatment, you don’t receive an initial exam from a certified orthodontist. Creating a treatment plan without performing a thorough exam can lead to a number of problems. If you have an underlying condition that isn’t considered in your treatment plan, this can worsen the problem or create an entirely new problem.

During your Invisalign treatment, your orthodontist may make some adjustments to your personalized treatment plan based on your progress. This ensures that you achieve the greatest results in the shortest amount of time. With DIY aligners, you won’t have a doctor monitoring your progress to make any necessary adjustments.

At-home clear aligner treatment is risky and oftentimes more expensive than professional Invisalign treatment at GO Orthodontics! Don’t take a risk on your smile. GO with the safe, reliable option that won’t leave your results to chance.
